Angus McKie is a Scottish science fiction and fantasy artist, as well as a writer and illustrator. He was born in 1951 in Glasgow, Scotland, and attended the Glasgow School of Art.
McKie has worked on a number of science fiction and fantasy publications throughout his career, including Heavy Metal, Omni, and Isaac Asimov’s Science Fiction Magazine. He has also illustrated several books, including “The Steel Tsar” by Michael Moorcock and “The Night Land” by William Hope Hodgson.
In addition to his work as an artist, McKie has written several science fiction and fantasy stories, including “The Observers” and “The Ultimate Earth”. He has also worked as a concept artist for a number of science fiction films, including “Heavy Metal” and “The Last Starfighter”.
McKie’s artwork is characterized by its use of bright colors, intricate detail, and a surreal, dreamlike quality. He has won numerous awards for his work, including the British Science Fiction Award for Best Artwork in 1980 and 1982.
