Bob Eggleton born September 13, 1960 in Concord, Massachusetts, is an American science fiction painter and illustrator.
Encouraged by his father, with whom he visited the Museum of Space and Aeronautics, he began to work in illustration but found that art school was not for him.
In 1988 he received The Gaughans Awards for the cover of a book by Isaac Asimov. He executed different subjects like spaceships, planets, aliens, dinosaurs, dragons…
In 1994 he was finally awarded a Hugo Award in the category Best Professional Artist.
Eggleton is a fan of Godzilla and worked as a consultant on the 1998 film.
The asteroid 13562 was named Bobeggleton in his honor.
